Nat’l Leon Day 2026

Hey with Hattingdon wearing her Holly Christmas hat.

June 25th

Six months away from our next Christmas Day. Check it out.

QUOTE: The word LEON spelled backwards is NOEL. It marks the day crafters begin to plan what homemade gifts and decorations they will make for the holiday season. These projects take planning, and time.

Crafters put effort into their designs creating customized gifts for their loved ones and those around them. These one-of-a-kind items are lovingly welcomed for their ingenuity and thoughtfulness.

“National Leon Day serves as a reminder to begin crafting the items needed to begin making those special homemade gifts. Besides, it’s never too soon to start.” UNQUOTE. Source »

Have you heard any of what you see reported above? Not one of us had. And no, we are not going to carry on about it all year. Hahaha. Wink.

Back to regular business. Love from all of us to all of you at Hattingdon Horses. See you soon.

A MEANINGFUL HOLIDAY CELEBRATED ALL OVER THE COUNTRY

It is National Pink Day, June 23, 2026. We chose the Harper hat for Hattingdon to wear for the event. The Harper design features a wide pink oval “saucer” hat with matching pink nosebobs. Let’s go!

Harper was created very early in the Hattingdon cartoon horse series. It is second only to “Curtis the First”. How about that?

HATS have long held a special place in human culture. From practical protection against the elements to fashionable statements, they have adorned our heads for centuries. But what is it about these headpieces that capture our imagination and draws us in? Beyond their mere utility, there’s a fascinating science behind why we love hats. Let’s delve into the reasons that make hats so universally appealing and explore the psychology and anthropology behind our enduring attachment.

Expression of Identity and Personality

Hats serve as a powerful means of expressing our individuality and personality. Just like our clothing choices, the type of hat we wear sends a message about who we are and what we value. From fedoras to baseball caps, each style carries its connotations and associations. By donning a specific hat, we can align ourselves with a particular subculture, or profession, or even evoke a sense of nostalgia. This ability to communicate and shape our identity through headwear undoubtedly contributes to our fascination with hats.

Social Signaling and Conformity

Humans are social creatures, and hats play a significant role in our social interactions. Through the ages, certain hats have become associated with specific groups or communities, creating a sense of belonging and solidarity. Wearing a hat that reflects our affiliation with a particular sports team, for example, can instantly establish a bond with fellow fans. Conversely, conforming to social norms and wearing a hat appropriate for a specific occasion or setting helps us fit into a collective identity, reinforcing our desire for social acceptance. • Continue to full article »
