Curtis is Vivian’s first love and always will be. He also happens to be the first cartoon horse she ever created, and the forerunner of what was to become Hattingdon Horses.

It is easy to see why she is so devoted to him. He is also wickedly handsome. Sigh.

Hello and Happy Friday! Hattingdon is modeling the Becky classic hat. Wow. What a stylish look.

We are crazy about the intersecting lines and circle motif decorating the dome of the hat. Hattingdon is oh so fab in it. Love, love, love!

This completes our first week of the Hattingdon Classic Hat Marathon. We hope you are having a “hatful of smiles” with us.

Next week we will be posting three more hats, this time on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. We have already chosen the hats, and are raring to go! We especially love the one selected for August 7th. See you then!

Savannah Classic

This is the earliest Hattingdon classic hat design that we know of (besides the original in basic black), and just the sweetest. Sooooo pretty and very much loved.

Hattingdon always looks pretty in pink. Those little dancing flowers across the front . . . ! Sigh.

Eden Classic

Welcome to the first day of our Classic Hat Marathon. We are showcasing Hattingdon’s classic hats throughout the month of August. At long last . . . hooray say classic hat lovers!

We are posting three classic hats every week for all five weeks of August. They have been selected by the Hattingdon Classic Hat Club. With a little input by Vivian (wink!). That’s 15 classic hats altogether.

Here is our very first selection.

Eden

Eden is a lovely classic hat with a teal dome, sky blue hatband (and nosebobs), and an olive brim. The dome and brim are embellished with a bamboo leaf motif in pristine white.

By the way, you have heard that charming, old-fashioned Southern reference to earrings as “earbobs”, right? Think Gone With the Wind.

When Vivian created Hattingdon, it looked odd with nothing on either side of the noseband. It was just a big white space. So she added what you see there now, and called them “nosebobs” because . . . well, she couldn’t think of anything else. There’s a bit of Hattingdon trivia for you!

We have not forgotten Hattingdon fans who love, love, love to shop Hattingdon.
