Cartoon Horses with Hat-titude
This is the earliest Hattingdon classic hat design that we know of (besides the original in basic black), and just the sweetest. Sooooo pretty and very much loved.
We believe it was created early in 2007.
Hattingdon always looks pretty in pink. Those little dancing flowers across the front . . . ! Sigh.

Welcome to the first day of our Classic Hat Marathon. We are showcasing Hattingdon’s classic hats throughout the month of August. At long last . . . hooray say classic hat lovers!
We are posting three classic hats every week for all five weeks of August. They have been selected by the Hattingdon Classic Hat Club. With a little input by Vivian (wink!). That’s 15 classic hats altogether.
Here is our very first selection.
Eden is a lovely classic hat with a teal dome, sky blue hatband (and nosebobs), and an olive brim. The dome and brim are embellished with a bamboo leaf motif in pristine white.
By the way, you have heard that charming, old-fashioned Southern reference to earrings as “earbobs”, right? Think Gone With the Wind.
When Vivian created Hattingdon, it looked odd with nothing on either side of the noseband. It was just a big white space. So she added what you see there now, and called them “nosebobs” because . . . well, she couldn’t think of anything else. There’s a bit of Hattingdon trivia for you!
We have not forgotten Hattingdon fans who love, love, love to shop Hattingdon.

We love 60s fashion. What a groovy and imaginative time it was. It has definitely inspired the following charming and brand new — Cee Cee Collection.
“When I think 60s fashion,” states Hattingdon creator and designer, Vivian Grant, “I think supermodel Jean Shrimpton. I remember her wearing a fabulous hat (as only she could) with a very tall, oval shaped dome, and a small, round brim. It was sublime. This is what inspired me to create the Cee Cee Hat Collection. Naturally it comes in a wide variety of delicious colors. Hope you love them.”

Greetings and salutations. There is some big time nostalgia going on here today. Both of these designs launched Hattingdon Horses, and made them the incredibly popular cartoon horses they became.
Let’s get down to business. Here are Vivian’s selections.
When this hat was created all those many moons ago, neither Vivian nor any of the rest of us had any idea just how cherished the Savannah hat would become. Hattingdon Horses really began with Curtis, Savannah and Star, and of course, Belle. They were our Fab Four in our early years.
The Savannah classic hat is created in the most luscious shade of lipstick pink with three white lilies dancing across the across the front. Simply sweet . . . . adorable.
Then there was Star.
Star Hattingdon wears a black cowboy hat with a blue hatband, and a white star.
Curtis launched Hattingdon Horses and will forever be an icon. However, from the moment of his appearance, Star became a superstar for oh so many years, and is still going strong today.
Aren’t they great? Sigh.
