Hey there. Thank you for stopping by. Like so many others recently, we have been snowed in. So what did Hattingdon creator & designer Vivian do? Work on Hattingdon of course. What else?

Vivian writes: “For a long time I have wanted to do a bowler hat for Hattingdon. It is such a handsome look on gentlement and the ladies too. As most of you know, I rarely do just one of anything. In this case, the hat stays the same, but the walking sticks are different. One even has a floral motif. How fun.”

UPDATE: Votes are in. You chose #1, the Toby Bowler hat in black, as your overall favourite. The third one with the floral walking stick was right behind it. Thank you for joining in.

We hope the Toby bowler hat brings you a ‘hatful of smiles’.” Here they are. Which one is your favourite?

Come back and see us again soon. Love, Hattingdon.

Edison

We pay tribute to Thomas Alva Edison, born on this day, the 11th of February.

Created in 2018 —and named after the great inventor himself — here’s Hattingdon’s “Edison” bowler hats and light shows.

There’s more! The “Edison” bowler hat also comes in multi-colored light bulbs.

This is one of our favorite Hattingdons ever. It has Vivian’s unique imagination and sense of humor stamped all over it. Brava!

The Genius

Edison developed many devices in fields such as electric power generation, mass communication, sound recording, and motion pictures. These inventions, which include the phonograph, the motion picture camera, and early versions of the electric light bulb, have had a widespread impact on the modern industrialized world.

Edison was one of the first inventors to apply the principles of organized science and teamwork to the process of invention, working with many researchers and employees. He established the first industrial research laboratory.

Happy birthday Mr. Edison!
