Canada Day

Happy Canada Day.

Hattingdon celebrates Canada Day in a Canadian flag inspired red and white puffy cap with large upturned brim. Vivian named the hat Zoe.

Canada Day is often referred to as “Canada’s birthday”, particularly in the popular press.

Wikipedia, the fount of all knowledge (wink), tells us:

Open Quote

The term “birthday” can be seen as an oversimplification, as Canada Day is the anniversary of only one important national milestone on the way to the country’s full sovereignty, namely the joining on July 1, 1867, of the colonies of Canada (divided into Ontario and Quebec), Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick into a wider British federation of four provinces.

Canada became a “kingdom in its own right” within the British Empire, commonly known as the Dominion of Canada.” End Quote

Best wishes to Canada and all of her wonderful citizens.

Although eggs were a symbol of fertility and rebirth in pagan cultures, Easter eggs were used by early Christians to symbolize parts of the Easter story. The hard shell represents the sealed tomb and the cracking of the egg represents Jesus’ resurrection.

Greetings and salutations.

Two images spring to mind when we think of February 14th, Valentine’s Day, a day that love and romance are traditionally celebrated with hearts, and with red roses.

We have chosen two hats that fulfill the occasion beautifully: — a red and white classic hat with a darling pattern featuring hearts, and — a new fashion hat featuring roses from the Jenny Rose Collection.

Happy New Year 2023

Colorful fireworks!

Greetings and welcome!

Here we are again at the start of another new year. Can you ‘Adam and Eve it?’ (that’s cockney rhyming slang for ‘can you believe it’).

Look!

Hattingdon celebrates in a top hat in what Pantone describes as the color of the year for 2023 — Viva Magenta. Vivian made the hatband white to set off that gorgeous color.

Jana Hattingdon.

Pantone writes:

“This year’s Color of the Year is powerful and empowering. It is a new animated red that revels in pure joy, encouraging experimentation and self-expression without restraint, an electrifying, and a boundaryless shade that is manifesting as a stand-out statement.”

An unconventional shade for an unconventional time, Viva Magenta is a signal of strength, inclusivity and self-expression.”

“PANTONE 18-1750 Viva Magenta welcomes anyone and everyone with the same verve for life and rebellious spirit. It is a color that is audacious, full of wit and inclusive of all.”

The hex code for the color of the hat (Viva Magenta) is #be3455. The hex code for the hatband is #9e0039.

Isn’t it delicious? Hattingdon absolutely adores it.

Happy New Year everyone!

Best wishes, with love, Hattingdon & Co.
