Vivian’s Fave Hats: Letter F

Greetings and salutations.

Hattingdon had a fashion hat beginning with the letter “F” named Fleur, but not a single classic hat. Then Vivian discovered that the artwork for the fashion hat is . . . gone! Where to, who by, who knows.

Vivian saw this an opportunity to have some creative fun. She decided to reimagine the Fleur design — both as a classic hat and a fashion hat. They are colorful, fun and quite stylish. We trust you will agree. Look!

On to the fashion hat, which is equally scrumptious.

Instead of featuring the blossom as a pattern, Vivian used as an adornment. Here she is.

We hope you love them as much as we do.

Vivian’s Fave Hats: Letter E

We have two very special hats for you. Eden and Etienne.

Classic Hat

Eden is a sweet hat created in the classic silhouette featuring a lovely bamboo inspired pattern. The colours are soothing and lovely. It features a teal dome, a sky blue hatband and stylish olive brim.

Etienne is one of Vivian’s all-time favourite hats. She created the original design very early on, long before what you see here.

Isn’t she fun? She doesn’t look amused though, does she? Ha ha ha. This design “has come a long way baby!”

Classic

This is a very smart look. It is has always been very popular. Its simplicity makes it so chic. Vivian named the hat Becky.

Fashion

Aside from Curtis, who is arguably the most beloved of all Hattingdon designs, this design is an all-time, top tier favourite. Is she, or is she not . . . darling? Sigh!

In the pink

“Pink is the color of universal love of oneself and of others. Pink represents friendship, affection, harmony, inner peace, and approachability. Pink is the official color for little girls and represents sugar and spice and everything nice. Pink is the sweet side of the color red.

According to surveys in Europe and the United States, pink is the color most often associated with charm, politeness, sensitivity, tenderness, sweetness, childhood, femininity, and romance. Pink is also thought of as meaning purity, integrity, nobility and kindness.” Source: Bourne Creative.

More about pink

The word pink is derived from the Danish term pinck oogen, which translates as half-closed eyes or small eyes, a clear reference to the appearance of the dianthus flower. Unbelievably, the word pink —referring to a color — was not used until the end of the 1700s, and not in general use until the 1800s.

The Urban Dictionary says: “In good health. In the 1500s pink meant “the embodiment of perfection,” but the current idiom (in good health) dates only from about 1900”.

The Grammarist says: “In the pink is an English idiom that means to be at the peak of health, to be in perfect condition. The expression in the pink to mean to be at the peak of health goes back to the 1500s when the word pink did not refer to a color.”
